DPD Austria shipping directly from Business Central
Shipping labels, returns, genuine cancellation, and the daily self-booking list – created straight from the sales order in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Connected to the DPD Austria WEB.Service (Gebrueder Weiss Paketdienst) via REST entirely in AL – no WEB.omat, no middleware, no separate shipping software.
How does DPD Austria shipping work in Business Central?
The merchantCENTRAL DPD Austria connector is a native AL extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (cloud). It connects directly to the DPD Austria WEB.Service (Gebrueder Weiss Paketdienst, REST/JSON): create shipping labels for DPD and primetime products, cancel via API, print labels individually or as a collective document, and retrieve the self-booking list for the parcel handover – all inside Business Central, with your own DPD Austria business account. The WEB.omat portal is not required, and a built-in test account lets you start without waiting for credentials.
The complete DPD Austria shipping process in one extension
From label to self-booking list – with DPD and primetime products, automatic product selection by weight, and genuine API cancellation.
Single & bulk labels
Shipping labels straight from the order or in batches with a progress dialog. Output as PDF or ZPL for thermal printers, in 203 or 300 dpi.
DPD & primetime products
Small parcel, normal parcel, and return for B2B and B2C – plus the primetime time windows (10:00/12:00/17:00, time frame, Saturday). Product selection by weight is automatic.
Genuine cancellation & reprint
Cancellation directly at the DPD AT system – a label only counts as cancelled once DPD confirms. Reprint any label at any time as an official COPY document.
Returns with 2D code
Return labels for drop-off at a Pickup PaketShop – optionally paperless with a digital 2D code your customer simply shows on their phone.
Self-booking list & collective print
Retrieve the handover manifest with one click, archive it permanently, and optionally perform the day closing. Print selected labels as one collective document – A4 with four labels per page, A6, or ZPL.
Pickup & collection requests
One-time pickups at your own site or collections at any address with delivery to another address – ideal for customer returns, including PREDICT notification.

The manifest in one click – with a permanent archive
DPD Austria requires the self-booking list to be handed over together with the parcels. The connector retrieves the list in one click, marks all labels of the day as manifested, and archives the PDF permanently in Business Central – available as proof of posting even months later. On request, the retrieval also performs the day closing at DPD AT.

DPD Austria shipping in Business Central – FAQ
Does the DPD Austria connector run natively in the Business Central cloud?
Yes. It is a native AL extension with target = Cloud for Business Central 28.x (2026 RW1) as SaaS. The DPD Austria WEB.Service is called via REST/JSON directly in AL – no middleware, no on-premises server.
Which DPD Austria products are supported?
Small Parcel (KP), Normal Parcel (NP), and Return (RETURN) for B2B and B2C, plus the primetime products workday 10:00/12:00/17:00, time window, and Saturday. With "Auto (by weight)" the connector chooses between small and normal parcel itself.
Do I need the WEB.omat portal or separate shipping software?
No. The connector uses your own DPD Austria business account (username, mandant, and MD5 password from the IT-Kundenberatung) and talks to the WEB.Service directly. No additional shipping software is required.
Can I test the connector risk-free?
Yes – even without your own credentials: the public DPD AT test account is built into the connector and activated with a single switch in the setup wizard. In addition, the connector comes with a free 30-day trial via Microsoft AppSource.
How does shipment tracking work?
The DPD Austria WEB.Service provides no tracking API. The connector therefore automatically generates a tracking link for every shipment (template configurable) through which you and your recipients follow the delivery status on the DPD website.
Can my customers return parcels paperlessly?
Yes. Return labels can optionally be created with a digital 2D code (Aztec) that your customer simply shows on their phone at the Pickup PaketShop – no printer needed. Alternatively, enclose the return label as a classic PDF.
What are the prerequisites?
The AD merchantCENTRAL hub must be installed and licensed, plus a DPD Austria business contract (Gebrueder Weiss Paketdienst) with WEB.Service access. Username, mandant, and MD5 password are issued by the DPD AT IT-Kundenberatung – for a first look, the built-in test account is all you need.
